Hold Yourself Accountable

It's the 4th month of the year and the first month in Q2!!! Can you believe it?
I'm thankful to have made it this far. I want you to think about what has changed or stayed the same in your life since January. The goals that you set, or the things you said you were going to improve upon or change, have those happened?
If not, now is the time to course correct.
Course correction is imperative, and it is a gift.
Never forget that it is a gift to correct, no matter what it looks like now.
Without getting too deep just yet, I want to encourage you that through Jesus Christ, you can do all things. Philippians 4:13
If you feel low and depleted, I encourage you to seek a relationship via God's word over religion and tradition.
The truth that no one will tell you is that whether the answers to the questions above are in your favor or not, you have control over the outcome, and no one is doing anything to you.
The quickest way to stay bitter, upset, offended, confused, and ignorant is to avoid the truth. Especially, avoiding it on your part, regarding where you are in life.
The word accountability means: the obligation or willingness to accept responsibility or to be accountable for your actions. Though it might come off stern and serious, and though it can be, it's really just keeping a record of how you process, react, and act in any given scenario.
Being accountable is NOT an option, though many treat it as such.
For instance, I can sit and moan and groan about writing projects that I have started but have not yet finished for as long as I want. Yet, that changes nothing; in fact, it adds fuel to the fire spiritually. Truth is, if I wake up 10 years later and it's exactly where it is today (GOD FORBID), that would be no one's fault but mine.
Or let's say I stopped praying consistently and decided to stop eating right and working out, I would have no one to blame for the confusion, desolation, redundancy, and fat that grows in my life but myself, because why?
I allowed it. I entertained it. I ignored it.
Now, because life is spiritual and not just physical, what I named are clearly the physical manifestations of something deeper. It's not just mental, but it's spiritual. A lot of what we deal with silently, what we think, say, or feel was passed down to us. It has nothing to do with us. Yet, it's still affecting us, just like if an illness runs in a family. The same concept applies to the spiritual realm, and the only way to break free is to take accountability in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Since the root of life is spiritual, that means in order for you to not only take accountability physically, but put a halt to recurring cycles or tendencies that you may not be able to explain why you think a certain way or act in a certain way, you have to take spiritual accountability.
What does this mean?
Spiritual accountability is accounting for what you do to nourish your spirit, how often do you talk to God, and how often do you read the Bible. Do you prioritize everyone and everything before actually praying about something, and if so, how do you know the response was actually from Him, if you aren't constantly reading up on Him?
How do you combat fear-based thoughts? How do you demolish worry? How do you fortify your faith?
These are some base questions to ponder on because if you aren't active in any of the following areas in any capacity, you put it on the back burner. The result of this is bad spiritual hygiene and you are allowing detrimental seeds to fester, whether you are conscious of it or not.
Combat or test, try to prove everything in life against the word of God.
I'll leave you with this.
Share with those who need it, and of course, leave your thoughts and share your testimony as the Holy Spirit leads.
-I love you, talk soon, stay accountable!
