Know Yourself √

"The one thing that you have that nobody else has is you. Your voice, your mind, your story, your vision".

-Neil Gaiman

The most detrimental and wasteful thing that anyone with any potential could do is not take the time to get to know themselves. I don't know about any of my readers but I've noticed for a minute now that my generation of young people and also the ones after mine, are very caught up in the artificial and the idea of many aspects in life, opposed to the reality of them.

For instance, do you know of  someone that tells you they were going to be at a certain point in their life by doing x, y, and z, and they always have these great plans but never seem to carry them out? (All talk and no action).

Or someone telling you that they want to be something in life that you know isn't for them but they still try so hard to fit in and be cool solely for social and societal acceptance?

How about that person who is a hypocrite and/or a contradiction to themselves? They always say one thing but then do another and they tell you what they cannot tolerate or accept from you or about you but they do the exact same thing?

Practice what you preach, and do unto others as you would have them to do unto you.

If you are between the ages of 19 and 22, maybe 28 for guys you are just as in need of guidance as the next person. And honestly up until the day you leave this earth you will learn something everyday, it's just a part of life's gifts.

These are our crucial developmental years. We all have flaws and issues that have to be worked and improved on, in order to become a better version of ourselves, so do not be so quick to judge.

A lot of youth today think that they are so sensible, that they know it all, that they are very different and have it all together but they still have a lot to learn.  It's also rare to find authenticity because everyone is trying to be what they see on TV and social media that they are all just alike, so don't be so quick to be in the mix and follow.

Be your own person.

You're still being taught so stop trying to teach, as if you have nothing else to go through or experience to become wiser. Look at yourself, re-evaluate your life and come back to reality because this is where you get stuck.

Those who follow the crowd usually get lost in it.

I think people forget how ginormous the world is. Just because you think that you run/control/or are known on your one little street, in your one little neighborhood, in your one little city, definitely does not mean that you will be anything once you step foot outside of your little comfort zone, to anyone. (Not saying that you can't be but initially you are not because nothing is handed to you, you earn it).

So don't be so quick to disregard people you THINK you don't need.

"...people can only meet you, as deeply as they've met themselves. This is the heart of clarity".

- Matt Kahn

Don't be that person that no one truly knows initially or anymore because you do not know yourself.

Take that time to do so.

Humble yourself.

Not everyone can be a rapper.

Not everyone can be a MODEL.

Not everyone can be a photographer.

Not everyone can be famous.

Not everyone can go "hard" and be "tough", ( you're not from the streets, please stop playing yourself).

"The worst thing you can do is lie to yourself. You know the truth and you know what you have to do. Make the right move!"

Not everything is for everybody and this is okay because we were not created to be robots but to be unique in every form. Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself.

It's important to find your niche and stick with it, because not being who you truly are is a waste of who you are.

"And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom."

-Anais N.

You cannot get to know yourself if you are busy trying to be who everyone else is. It all gets old at some point and whether you realize that sooner or later, many should hope and pray that it is not to late for their true selves to reach their highest height!

It all comes down to this question: Who are YOU going to be when its all over?

"No one is you and that is your power".

Recently, I had a family outing at the movies with my mother and my sisters. It was very comforting, as it always is for me when I am surrounded by my loved ones enjoying one another's laughter. They

Your scent, your touch, your smile and your gaze; replays in my mind like Christmas carols during the holidays. But you don't care... You picked up and left as IF a piece of my heart you never shared.

God has the FINAL say!

Today was one of those days where I wasn't necessarily questioning the order of events in life but just concerned on the pace things were moving. You know the feeling where you just feel really dull b
